We are working to gather additional information and will not have any further comment at this time,\u201d the Padres said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>The Padres did not provide further details about the circumstances surrounding Pirela\u2019s detention.<\/p>\n<p>The Department of Homeland Security said in a statement that U.S. Border Patrol arrested Oswaldo Jose Pirela Dominguez, a Venezuelan national, at El Paso International Airport on Sunday. <\/p>\n<p>According to DHS, Pirela entered the United States legally on Sept. 10, 2014, and was authorized to remain in the country until Feb. 10, 2018.
