News of her planned departure was first reported by media\u00a0blogger Mike McGuff. The station confirmed to the Houston Chronicle that Edsitty&#8217;s last day will be Sept. 24.<\/p>\n<p>The Baylor graduate has covered many major news events in Houston for\u00a0KTRK, including the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2021 freeze and Hurricane Beryl in 2024.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I will miss so much about Houston, and that includes our amazing viewers as well as my dear news family,&#8221; Edsitty posted on Instagram Tuesday morning. &#8220;I will miss them the most.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Before coming to Houston,\u00a0Edsitty was a planning producer and on-air reporter in her home state of Arizona.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This was a very difficult decision, and I\u2019ve been a ball of emotions recently because I have had SO MUCH FUN living and reporting in Southeast Texas,&#8221; Edsitty wrote in her post. &#8220;But it\u2019s time for me to get closer to home and to my family.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Edsitty has not announced her next move.
