Animal Care Services is searching for the owner of a bull calf found wandering through a\u00a0Walmart parking lot on the South Side.<\/p>\n
The calf, nicknamed “Moodini” by ACS after leading authorities on a brief chase, was spotted Tuesday afternoon in the 1200 block of Southeast Military Drive.<\/p>\n
ACS spokesperson Lisa Norwood said several shoppers saw Moodini approaching the store before police arrived. Livestock are not legally allowed to roam within San Antonio, she said.<\/p>\n
Officers began herding\u00a0Moodini toward a nearby green space for safety, but the calf had other plans.<\/p>\n
Moodini made a run for it, heading into a large underground drainage tunnel, Norwood said. He traveled some distance through the tunnel before stopping for a brief rest.<\/p>\n
ACS officers safely removed the calf and loaded him onto a livestock trailer, but not before posing for a few photos with the escape artist.<\/p>\n
