Plano ISD<\/a> received an overall B rating, 85 out of 100 points, from the Texas Education Agency\u2019s<\/a> accountability ratings for the 2025-26 school year.<\/p>\n

The district\u2019s score improved from the previous school year<\/a>, when it also received a B but had a score of 82 out of 100 points. An 85 is the highest score PISD has received since the rankings were revamped for the 2022-23 school year.<\/p>\n

What you need to know<\/p>\n

The score measures \u201chow much students are learning in each grade and whether or not they are ready for the next grade. It also shows how well a school or district prepares their students for success after high school in college, the workforce, or the military,\u201d according to TEA\u2019s website.<\/p>\n

The rating is broken into the following three categories:<\/p>\n

Student achievement, which measures whether students met expectations on the STAAR test along with graduation rates, and how prepared students are for success after high school.<\/p>\n

School Progress, which measures how students perform over time and how the performance compares with similar student populations.<\/p>\n

Closing the Gaps, which measures how well a district ensures that all student groups are successful.<\/p>\n

PISD gained in all categories from 2024-25-to-2025-26, receiving a B in all three.<\/p>\n

Diving deeper<\/p>\n

Of 67 PISD campuses that received an overall grade from the TEA, 22 received an A, 27 received a B and 13 received a C. Five campuses received a D, all of which were elementary.<\/p>\n
