{"id":411997,"date":"2026-08-20T16:20:11","date_gmt":"2026-08-20T16:20:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/411997\/"},"modified":"2026-08-20T16:20:11","modified_gmt":"2026-08-20T16:20:11","slug":"what-abcs-good-morning-america-said-about-houston-texans","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/411997\/","title":{"rendered":"What ABC&#8217;s &#8216;Good Morning America&#8217; said about Houston Texans"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Reliant Stadium will be busy Thursday night with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.houstonchronicle.com\/sports\/texans\/article\/joint-practice-raiders-takeaways-stroud-22392710.php\" data-link=\"native\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"\">the Houston Texans&#8217; second preseason game<\/a>, but things got started early over there with ABC\u2019s \u201cGood Morning America\u201d going live from the field for a segment on the team and its fans.<\/p>\n<p>With this season\u2019s Super Bowl being broadcast by ABC for the first time since 2006, the popular morning show is visiting all 32 NFL cities throughout the season.<\/p>\n<p>For the Texans, it got <a href=\"https:\/\/www.houstonchronicle.com\/sports\/texans\/article\/andre-johnson-hof-induction-19600870.php\" data-link=\"native\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"\">Pro Football\u00a0Hall of Famer Andre Johnson<\/a> and former defensive lineman Travis Johnson out of bed early to do a live shot on the field with ABC\u2019s Will Reeve along with Toro and some of the team\u2019s cheerleaders and fans.<\/p>\n<p>The six-minute segment featured pre-recorded interviews with coach DeMeco Ryans, owners Cal and Hannah McNair and super fans Steve Beckholt, Mark Baughman and Pamela Irby, focusing on the team entering its 25th season.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTwenty-five years later, it just gets better and better ever year,\u201d said Irby, who leads the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.houstonchronicle.com\/sports\/texans\/article\/houston-texans-fan-travels-every-game-this-season-20038186.php\" data-link=\"native\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"\">Traveling Texans group<\/a> that attends the team\u2019s road games.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey would have loved to see everything we\u2019re doing to celebrate the 25th season,\u201d said Hannah McNair, who is married to the McNairs&#8217; son Cal. \u201cWe\u2019re just very excited to be able to honor them.<\/p>\n<p>Andre Johnson, who was drafted before the Texans\u2019 second season and is in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.houstonchronicle.com\/sports\/columnists\/dialcreech\/article\/Creech-a-fitting-tribute-for-Andre-Johnson-12369925.php\" data-link=\"native\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"\">franchise\u2019s Ring of Honor<\/a>, presented Reeve, son of late actor Christopher Reeve, with a personalized jersey, and Travis Johnson announced that the Texans Fan Council, some of whom were present for the segment, would be the flagholders during the national anthem before the season-opener against the Buffalo Bills on Sept. 13.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI got to see the organization grow to where it is now,\u201d Andre Johnson told Reeve. \u201cEverything is just headed forward for us.
