SAN ANTONIO – A new brick-oven pizza spot in Leon Valley is pairing pies with dance, as Esta Pizza opens next to its sister business, Esta Noche dance studio, for what the owners call an \u201ceat, dance, repeat\u201d experience.<\/p>\n
Jonathan Godinez said Esta Pizza is \u201cbrand new\u201d and has been open \u201cabout two months.\u201d The restaurant is located at 7007 Bandera Road, near Bandera and Hebner Road.<\/p>\n
Godinez said the menu is built around family and dance influences, with pizzas that \u201chave a little story behind it.\u201d He said the restaurant\u2019s most popular pizza is the \u201cbaby J,\u201d named after the owners\u2019 daughter. He said it comes with pepperoni, feta cheese and \u201cMike\u2019s hot honey drizzle on top of it.\u201d<\/p>\n
He also highlighted a dessert pizza called \u201cMama\u2019s Touch,\u201d which he said is based on something his mom made for him growing up: \u201cbananas, lecha condensala, condensed milk.\u201d Other menu items include pizzas such as the \u201cSusie Q,\u201d which he said is named after the dance move.<\/p>\n
The owners are also promoting a new weekly event starting Sunday called Domingo Sabroso. Plans include a free bachata class at 1 p.m., social dancing from 2-5 p.m., and karaoke and games. Admission is listed as $5 before 2 p.m.<\/p>\n
