Local Foods is launching its second restaurant in Austin on Aug. 21, according to a news release.<\/p>\n
The new location will serve lunch, dinner, cocktails and coffee\u2014with weekend brunch debuting in September. The brand\u2019s latest expansion comes four years after Local Foods opened its first Austin location in the 2nd Street District. The company is led by owners Martin Berson, Benjy Levit and Dylan Murray.<\/p>\n
On the menu<\/p>\n
The menu is slated to include fan favorites, as well as expanded entree offerings, according to the release.<\/p>\n
Dishes that are exclusive to the new Local Foods include the Borracho Beef Sandwich, which features a Mexican-style red wine braised beef. The hand-held is topped with a cilantro and cabbage slaw, sliced tomato, grilled red onion, pickled pepper, provolone, aioli and beef jus on toasted ciabatta. The new location will also exclusively offer a salmon poke bowl with sesame-tamari marinated Faroe Island salmon.<\/p>\n
Other menu items include salads and bowls, sandwiches, soups and desserts. Patrons can select from offerings like the truffled egg salad, gulf seafood po’boy and red potato salad..<\/p>\n
The drink menu<\/p>\n
The new location will feature a matcha and espresso bar, as well as hot and iced teas and smoothies.<\/p>\n
Local Foods will also have a curated cocktail menu, featuring blood orange and soft serve margaritas, as well as a passion basil bliss crafted with Tito\u2019s vodka, passion puree, soda and passion pearls.<\/p>\n

Local Foods uses ingredients from Texas farmers and producers, including eggs from Swift Hill Farms<\/a> and beef from Peeler Farms<\/a>.<\/p>\n “Working with Texas farmers and producers allows us to create menus that evolve with the seasons while staying true to the dishes our guests know and love,\u201d Zack Sutton, executive chef of Local Foods Austin, said in a news release. \u201cThis new restaurant gives us the opportunity to expand that vision even further with more dinner offerings, new seasonal dishes and a space where people can gather morning, noon and night.”<\/p>\n
