SAN ANTONIO – A heartbroken San Antonio family is speaking out for the first time since their little boy accidentally drowned in a northside pool.<\/p>\n
Despite their grief, they’re finding comfort in knowing he’s given the gift of life to other children.<\/p>\n
They say their faith is what’s holding them together.<\/p>\n
RELATED | Young boy remains in critical condition after nearly drowning at community pool<\/a><\/p>\n “I miss him, that’s all,” said Grace LeBlanc, mother of 2-year-old Malachi. “I just miss him. I wanna talk to him, I wanna hold him, I wanna put him to bed, I want to bathe him.”<\/p>\n Grace and her husband, Myron are living through what any parent would consider a nightmare after Malachi died in the hospital. Doctors declared the two-year-old brain dead after he was found unresponsive in a community pool.<\/p>\n “He loved being outside and his favorite thing to do was probably swimming. He loved swimming,” Grace said.<\/p>\n Malachi was with a family friend when it happened. Both his parents and police saying he fell in, calling it an accident.<\/p>\n “That’s really it,” Myron said. “The details really aren’t important.”<\/p>\n Their calmness comes from deep rooted faith.<\/p>\n RELATED | Young boy dies 4 days after near-drowning at community pool<\/a> <\/a><\/p>\n “Our grief comes in waves,” Grace said. “I’m grateful to God that he gives us the peace and the comfort so that we can continue to function for our other three children.”<\/p>\n They also find comfort in the hope that Malachi’s life will serve as a miracle for those that his death will give a second chance.<\/p>\n “He was able to donate his heart, his kidney, and his liver,” Grace shared. “Those were the three organs that were fully functioning and able to go to a recipient in need.”<\/p>\n “When [doctors] approached us with this opportunity, I just felt it in my heart,” Myron said. “Like, you know, either God is going to give us the miracle, or Malachi would be that miracle for someone else.”<\/p>\n A reality they say they’re grateful for, but they’ll always miss their happy little boy.<\/p>\n “At the end of the day, God gives us this peace to keep going,” Grace said. “We know there’s a reason for this. We know there is a purpose.
