ST. JO, Texas – Evacuation orders prompted by a wildfire in Montague County have been lifted.<\/p>\n
What we know:<\/p>\n
The National Weather Service in Fort Worth issued a Fire Warning for Montague County just before noon Friday. That warning was canceled just after 1:30 p.m.<\/p>\n
According to the message, the wildfire is located near Starkey Road, about 7 miles northwest of St. Jo and was moving quickly southwest. In the follow-up to the warning, officials said that crews continued the battle the fire but it has been contained.<\/p>\n

Montague ISD discusses wildfire <\/p>\n

In a statement posted on Facebook, officials at Montague Independent School District said they are aware of the fire, but it is not threatening the school at this time.<\/p>\n
“The district is in communication with county officials, and we will share any updates with as we receive additional information,” officials wrote.<\/p>\n
