HARRIS COUNTY, Texas \u2013 A Harris County man was arrested after investigators say he used online messaging to arrange a meeting with someone he believed was a child.<\/p>\n
Maximiano Torres, 28, was charged with online solicitation of a minor following an undercover operation conducted by the Harris County Precinct 4 Constable\u2019s Office. The charge is classified as a second-degree felony.<\/p>\n
According to investigators, members of the constable\u2019s Criminal Investigations Division posed as juveniles on social media while looking for adults willing to travel for a sexual encounter. Investigators said Torres communicated with an undercover officer and later traveled to an undisclosed location in north Harris County on Aug. 18.<\/p>\n
Detectives were waiting at the location and arrested Torres, authorities said.<\/p>\n
Torres was booked into the Harris County Jail. Court records show he has an $80,000 bond and that an ICE detainer has been issued.<\/p>\n
Records show Torres is scheduled for arraignment on Sept. 29 at 8:30 a.m.<\/p>\n
