SAN ANTONIO \u2014 San Antonio police are searching for a suspect accused of posing as a credit union employee and stealing money from a 75-year-old woman while she was recovering from surgery at a local hospital. <\/p>\n
The incident happened June 28 at North Central Baptist Hospital on Madison Oak Drive.<\/p>\n
Police said the woman had recently undergone surgery and was heavily medicated when she received a phone call from someone claiming to be an employee with Security Service Federal Credit Union (SSFCU).<\/p>\n
The caller allegedly told her that her debit card had been compromised. Investigators said the suspect later went to the hospital and provided the victim with a temporary debit card. <\/p>\n
During the encounter, the suspect allegedly obtained the woman\u2019s debit card and her personal identification number.<\/p>\n
The victim\u2019s card was later used at nearby ATMs and retail stores, police said.<\/p>\n
