SAN ANTONIO \u2014 A struggle over a handgun left a woman hospitalized Saturday morning after she was shot as a result on the city’s Northeast Side.<\/p>\n
The incident happened around 11:29 a.m. Saturday, on the 7300 block of Azalea Square. <\/p>\n
According to SAPD, officers arrived and found the woman suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to her upper extremities.<\/p>\n
The woman told police she had allegedly been arguing with a man when he retrieved a handgun and attempted to shoot himself. Police said the woman tried to intervene and grabbed the firearm, leading to a struggle in which she was struck by gunfire.<\/p>\n
The woman was transported to a local hospital for medical treatment.
