He had barely closed the chapter on one disaster before the water came back and hit him again.

Since then, our team has been:

Gutting the spacePulling nails, screws, and leftover insulationRunning fans to dry out every room

Now, we’ve started mold sanitation to ease Justin’s worries and help him take one more step toward rebuilding, again.

Brandy: Focusing on the Good

Brandy and her neighbors found themselves trapped when the bridge to their neighborhood washed out. Her home holds a lifetime of memories, her husband built it himself before passing away. “That’s one of the hardest things for me is losing memories and photo albums,” Brandy shared.

Even so, her outlook stays positive. She believes that if we focus on the good and keep rebuilding, we’ll see the light bloom again.

We’ve been by her side clearing mud, salvaging what belongings we could, removing damaged drywall and baseboards, and hauling out debris.

Linda: Finding Rhythm Again

Some homes hold generations of memories. Linda’s parents built her house from the ground up, and it became the heart of their family’s life. During the flooding, Linda was trapped inside, climbing into the attic and breaking through a skylight to collect rainwater while she waited to be rescued.

Today, All Hands & Hearts volunteers are helping gut, repair, and restore the home her parents left behind, saving everything they can along the way.

Linda says she couldn’t have done this alone. The support she’s received has reminded her that even after unimaginable loss, recovery doesn’t have to happen alone. Now, one of the moments that gives her hope is caring for the hummingbirds outside her home again. Feeding the birds and looking after the animals reminds her that life is slowly finding its rhythm again. Each small routine feels like another step forward as All Hands & Hearts continues helping restore her home.

We’re Still Here

Since launching this new response, we’ve supported more than 200 people with emergency housing through our partnership with Airbnb.org, and completed 32 muck-and-gut and mold-sanitation projects. Working alongside partners like GEM and Operation Blessing, we’ve distributed 26 dehumidifiers and 18 fans to help families dry out and rebuild, and we continue to grow our volunteer base to meet the need. Behind every number is a family taking the first steps toward home again.

Make a Difference

Justin, Brandy, and Linda are just three of the many neighbors we’re standing beside as Texas rebuilds.
