About 100 residents have been displaced, two people were taken to a hospital for smoke inhalation, and three were treated at the scene during a massive west Fort Worth apartment fire early Tuesday, officials said.<\/p>\n
More than 30 fire units were dispatched to the Shadowwood Apartments at 6701 Calmont Ave. starting about 6 a.m., according to the 911 call sheet. Fort Worth Fire Department officials said it was a three-alarm fire.<\/p>\n
About 50 apartments were damaged<\/a> in the blaze, fire officials said.<\/p>\n A firefighter and several residents were treated for smoke inhalation<\/a>,<\/p>\n The American Red Cross will provide emergency assistance to the displaced residents.<\/p>\n Red Cross North Texas Region officials and the City of Fort Worth worked together to open an evacuation point at Evans Recreation Center for affected residents.
