EL PASO, TEXAS (KFOX14\/CBS4) \u2014 A 68-year-old Horizon man has died from injuries he suffered in a multi-vehicle crash in East El Paso in July, police said on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
According to the El Paso Police Department, a five-vehicle crash on July 14, near 12200 Montwood, that left five people injured has resulted in the death of 68-year-old Glen Archer, one of the drivers involved in the crash. <\/p>\n
Police said on Monday that investigators received information from the medical examiner’s office that Archer died as a result of the crash. <\/p>\n
According to investigators, the incident happened when a 2019 Ford Ranger, driven by Archer, was traveling northbound in the 1800 block of Joe Battle and attempted to make a right turn onto 12200 Montwood \u201cat a high rate of speed.\u201d Police said the Ranger then failed to negotiate the turn, hit a raised median, and then struck a 2019 Honda Ridgeline traveling east on Montwood.<\/p>\n
Police said both vehicles crossed into the westbound lanes and struck three other vehicles, a 2016 Chevy Silverado, a 2009 Honda Ridgeline and a 2007 Jeep Wrangler, that were stationary in the intersection due to a red signal light.<\/p>\n
Archer and his 23-year-old passenger, Nathan Archer of Horizon, were taken to a local hospital, police said. <\/p>\n
The driver and passenger of the 2019 Honda Ridgeline, Elsa Rubalcaba Ortega Rosa, 64, and Ponce Christian, 31, both of East El Paso, were also transported to a local hospital.<\/p>\n
Police said the driver of the 2016 Chevy Silverado, 47-year-old Elsa Rubalcaba Ortega Rosa, was not injured. <\/p>\n
Police said the passenger in the 2009 Honda Ridgeline was not injured, while the driver, 77-year-old Maria DeAnda, was transported to a local hospital.<\/p>\n
Additionally, Animal Control removed a deceased canine from the 2019 Honda Ridgeline, police said.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, the driver of the 2007 Jeep Wrangler, Juan Manuel Goyta, 41, of East El Paso, was not injured, according to police.<\/p>\n
