Beginning Sept. 8, the shopping center will showcase work by Texas-based interdisciplinary artist Brenda Melgoza Ciardiello as part of its Artist Collective program, followed by a series of free weekend performances featuring ballet folkl\u00f3rico, mariachi and other local groups throughout Hispanic Heritage Month.<\/p>\n<p>Ciardiello\u2019s exhibition explores memory, place and cultural identity through painting, ceramic sculpture and photography, using materials and imagery connected to places of personal and ancestral significance.<\/p>\n<p>Art Rooted In Place And Memory<\/p>\n<p>Ciardiello\u2019s work is centered on the relationship between people and place. Her paintings, sculptures and photo montages incorporate materials including wild clay, minerals and plants, creating pieces that reflect both geological history and cultural memory.<\/p>\n<p>The Artist Collective exhibit will remain on display on Level 1 near The Westin from Sept. 8 through early November, giving visitors a longer window to experience the work beyond Hispanic Heritage Month itself.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe love celebrating all the cultures that make Galleria Dallas such a great destination,\u201d Audrey Miranda, director of marketing and partnerships at Galleria Dallas, said in an official statement. \u201cBy sharing the work of a local artist and welcoming talented performers such as mariachis and folklorico dancers into the shopping center, we\u2019re commemorating Hispanic Heritage Month in a meaningful way.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Local Performers Take The Stage<\/p>\n<p>The celebration will also feature free performances at 2 and 4 p.m. on select Saturdays and Sundays on Level 1 near Lane Boots.<\/p>\n<p>The lineup includes North Texas student and community groups such as Lake Highlands High School Ballet Folklorico, J.J. Pearce High School Folklorico, Mariachi Orgullo de LV Berkner High School, Richardson High School El Corazon Folklorico Company, Anastasia Flores Dance Company and Las Estrellas de Tejas Ballet Folklorico.<\/p>\n<p>Performances begin Sept. 19 and continue through Oct. 11, based on the <a href=\"https:\/\/galleriadallas.com\/programs\/events\/hispanic-heritage-month-performances\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">schedule<\/a> provided by Galleria Dallas.<\/p>\n<p>The Artist Collective exhibit runs Sept. 8 through early November at Galleria Dallas, 13350 Dallas Parkway.
