A young Houston man died early this morning after losing control of his vehicle on Loop 610 North near the McCarty exit.<\/p>\n
The crash was reported at approximately 12:23 a.m. The victim, described as a man in his 20s, was the sole occupant of a Lexus four-door sedan. According to authorities, the car was traveling at a high rate of speed when the driver lost control, went over the hill and slammed into a barricade. He was pronounced dead at the scene.<\/p>\n
Officials say the victim was wearing a seatbelt and was not ejected from the vehicle. No other vehicles were involved.<\/p>\n
Houston Police Department\u2019s Vehicular Crimes Division is handling the investigation. HPD VCD Sgt. Barrow is the officer of record.<\/p>\n
As a result of the crash, Loop 610 North is shut down for approximately two hours. The Kirkpatrick exit is also closed. Drivers are urged to seek alternate routes.<\/p>\n
Authorities say there is no indication of criminality or prior violations connected to the incident.<\/p>\n
