The wound remains etched forever in the hearts of Dallas Cowboys<\/a> fans. And now, one of the most infamous plays in franchise history has been immortalized on the\u00a0fa\u00e7ade of a small restaurant in Arlington.<\/p>\n Juan Vel\u00e1zquez spent a full week \u2014 and 250 cans of spray paint in varying tones \u2014 to recreate Dez Bryant\u2019s controversial \u201ccatch\/no catch\u201d<\/a> against the Green Bay Packers in the 2014 NFC Divisional Playoff at Lambeau Field. Or, as the moment is\u00a0better known: #DezCaughtIt.<\/p>\n The mural, depicting Bryant soaring over Packers cornerback Sam Shields, now covers the front of Gilberto Tacos at 1112 E. Abram St. in Arlington.<\/p>\n Article continues below this ad<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s an iconic image in Dallas sports history. It represents so many things,\u201d said Vel\u00e1zquez, 37, who was born in\u00a0Monterrey, Mexico, and moved to Fort Worth at age 10.<\/p>\n Vel\u00e1zquez believes the 2014 season was the last time the Cowboys truly had everything in place to reach \u2014 and win \u2014 the Super Bowl.<\/p>\n \u201cIf the referees hadn\u2019t overturned that catch, I\u2019m sure the Cowboys would have been on their way to the Super Bowl,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n With under five minutes left in the fourth quarter and Dallas facing 4th and 2 at the Green Bay 32, Tony\u00a0Romo launched a deep pass to Bryant.<\/p>\n Bryant leaped over Shields, secured the ball, took steps, and lunged toward the goal line.<\/p>\n Article continues below this ad<\/p>\n Officials initially ruled it a spectacular 31\u2011yard completion, giving Dallas first\u2011and\u2011goal at the 1.<\/p>\n Packers head coach Mike McCarthy challenged the play.<\/p>\n After review, referee Gene Steratore overturned the ruling \u2014 incomplete pass.<\/p>\n The turnover on downs allowed Green Bay to drain the clock and win 26-21.<\/p>\n \u201cThat reversal by the referees stole from me the chance to experience something I hope to see before I die: The Cowboys winning a Super Bowl,\u201d\u00a0Vel\u00e1zquez said.<\/p>\n Article continues below this ad<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
