They arrived about a month ago from a private wildlife ranch in Texas.<\/p>\n<p>A spokesperson says they are now out in their habitat but do have access to their barn behind the scenes while they get acclimated to their new home.<\/p>\n<p>Zebras were a mainstay at the zoo for nearly a century until they left five years ago to make way for what is now the lion habitat in Predators of Africa and Asia. <\/p>\n<p>The first zebra arrived at the Fort Worth Zoo in 1923. The species remained until 2021. Hercules and Pegasus are now in town and ready to begin a new chapter in zoo history.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Zebras are back at the Fort Worth Zoo!
