Yanez was retried after <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kcbd.com\/2026\/08\/26\/victor-yanez-back-court-after-july-mistrial\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.kcbd.com\/2026\/08\/26\/victor-yanez-back-court-after-july-mistrial\/\">Judge William Eichman granted the defense\u2019s motion for a mistrial<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Police say Yanez shot Rios outside of a bar near 2nd and Clovis in April of last year. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Prosecutors say Yanez is a gang member who was involved in other crimes, like prostitution. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The defense says these are pop culture influences, not the actions of a gang member.<\/p>\n<p>Copyright 2026 KCBD.
