Davis, 24, was fatally shot while driving to work on Aug. 13.<\/a>The man accused in her death remains in jail. Police are calling it a road rage incident.<\/p>\nAt her funeral service, loved ones shared stories of the woman they knew as a sister, teacher, and friend.<\/p>\n
To her family, Davis was affectionately known as \u201cT-T.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cYou are my little sister,\u201d said her sister, Taivion Davis. \u201cYou are also so much more than that. You are a part of me.\u201d<\/p>\n
At E. Ray Elementary School, Davis was known as \u201cMiss Davis,\u201d an educator who put others first and made a lasting impact on students and staff.<\/p>\n
\u201cThat was Miss Davis, always willing to give, but never willing to ask for much in return,\u201d said Principal Alexis Young.<\/p>\n
Former high school cheer coach Melissa Sigler described Davis as someone who consistently stood up for others.<\/p>\n
\u201cShe spoke up for people who needed to be spoken up for, even if they couldn\u2019t,\u201d Sigler said.<\/p>\n
The service was filled with music, tears and heartfelt tributes as family and friends reflected on a life cut short.<\/p>\n
\u201cAugust 13 is a day I will never forget,\u201d Young told mourners.<\/p>\n
Young said Davis quickly became a valued member of the school community.<\/p>\n
\u201cMiss Davis may not be my daughter. She may not be related to me by blood. But she is my E. Ray family,\u201d Young said. \u201cAnd on August 13, a piece of my heart was ripped away.\u201d<\/p>\n
Speakers shared words they said they never had the chance to tell Davis.<\/p>\n
\u201cMiss Davis, I am proud of you,\u201d Young said. \u201cI am thankful that you joined our team and came back for a second year. I\u2019m thankful for our laughter, our conversation and the memories we made.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cYou deserved so much time,\u201d said Davis’ cousin, Carl Evans, Jr. \u201cI\u2019m so sorry you were taken away from us this way. But your life mattered.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cI wish heaven had a phone, just so I could call you,\u201d Taivion said.<\/p>\n
As mourners grieved, they also expressed gratitude for the years they shared with Davis, concluding with a symbolic tribute as a crown was placed on Davis\u2019 casket. <\/p>\n
A gesture that seemed to reflect both who Davis was and the countless lives she touched.<\/p>\n
