HOUSTON \u2013 A driver is dead after losing control of a white Porsche coupe this morning on Houston\u2019s South Loop feeder road, Houston Police Department confirmed.<\/p>\n
The crash happened around 1:12 a.m. at 2500 South Loop West, in front of Pappasito\u2019s Cantina.<\/p>\n
According to HPD, the driver exited the South Loop\u2019s main lanes at Kirby Drive and continued at a high rate of speed along the feeder road. The driver lost control, struck a curb and went airborne before the Porsche slammed into a pole.<\/p>\n
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver appeared to be the only occupant of the vehicle and had not been identified as of early this morning.<\/p>\n
Speed is believed to have been a factor in the crash. Whether intoxication played a role remains under investigation, authorities said.<\/p>\n
