{"id":422323,"date":"2026-09-01T00:26:09","date_gmt":"2026-09-01T00:26:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/422323\/"},"modified":"2026-09-01T00:26:09","modified_gmt":"2026-09-01T00:26:09","slug":"austin-bar-and-venue-valhalla-to-permanently-close-after-17-years-central-austin","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/422323\/","title":{"rendered":"Austin bar and venue Valhalla to permanently close after 17 years | Central Austin"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The owner of Austin bar and venue, Valhalla, announced its upcoming closure on Oct. 26, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/valhallatavern\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">according to a social media post.<\/a> The building sold in late August and new ownership is invoking the termination clause in Valhalla\u2019s lease.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe knew this was coming and it still feels sad,\u201d owner Seth Levy shared online. \u201cBut, a bandaid being ripped off is better than the slow peel.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The context<\/p>\n<p>The venue, located in Austin\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/redriverculturaldistrict.org\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Red River Cultural District<\/a>, started in November 2009, according to the post.
