HOUSTON \u2013 A man was found dead inside a closet under the stairs of a southwest Houston apartment, and police are investigating the circumstances surrounding his death as suspicious.<\/p>\n
Houston police officers responded around 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 31, to an apartment in the 10200 block of Harwin Drive after a report of a deceased man.<\/p>\n
According to police, a man told investigators he had been away from his apartment for several days. When he returned, he found his roommate dead inside the closet under the stairs.<\/p>\n
Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced the man dead at the scene.<\/p>\n
Police have not released the man\u2019s identity. His cause of death is also unknown pending an autopsy by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.<\/p>\n
The investigation is ongoing.<\/p>\n
