\u2026The\u00a0Dallas Cowboys\u00a0went out of their way over the summer to ensure (Micah) Parsons would not play for the division-rival Eagles \u2014 at least not anytime soon.<\/p>\n

Unbeknownst to everyone except the few who crafted the\u00a0August blockbuster trade\u00a0that sent Parsons from Dallas to Green Bay was a \u201cpoison pill\u201d condition that, according to sources involved with the deal, prevents the two-time All-Pro from playing for Philadelphia in the immediate future.<\/p>\n

The previously unreported condition states that if the Packers decide to trade Parsons to a team in the NFC East \u2014 the Eagles\u00a0tried to trade for him in the summer\u00a0before being rebuffed \u2014 then Green Bay would owe Dallas its 2028 first-round draft pick, sources involved in the trade told ESPN.<\/p>\n

Schefty says the conditions are set through 2026, so the Birds, Giants, and Commies can\u2019t trade for Parsons until 2027 without the 1st round pick being forfeit. Apparently it\u2019s the same condition set for Kenny Clark and a possible trade back to the NFC North. <\/p>\n

Parsons, or \u201cMichael Parson,\u201d as Jerry Jones once called him, signed a four-year deal when he was traded to the Pack. In 2027 he\u2019d be 28 years old and hitting the cap at $27 million, then a huge jump in salary in 2028, so if Howie ever did decide to move for him, it would have to come with the back end\/void year magic that he typically works. <\/p>\n

The Birds went out and got Jaelan Phillips at the trade deadline and they\u2019ve got Nolan Smith coming back from injury, so we will see how good the defense looks out of the bye, but it\u2019s hilarious nonetheless that Jerruh and company put a provision in the GB trade that essentially works like the opposite of a sell-on fee. It\u2019s like a sell-on penalty instead.<\/p>\n
