This will push highs slightly higher to the upper 90s on the Caprock and low 100s off the Caprock. <\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"figure-img img-fluid mx-auto d-block\" fetchpriority=\"low\" loading=\"lazy\" alt=\"KCBD\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/1788390992_219_5BCPBMRPTNBKVI2H344D25775M.PNG\" width=\"980\" height=\"543\" \/>KCBD(KCBD)<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Monsoonal storms are expected once again across central and eastern New Mexico by Wednesday afternoon. Some of these storms could make it into the northwest zones by early afternoon before dissipating, keeping a slight chance of thunderstorms in the forecast.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"figure-img img-fluid mx-auto d-block\" fetchpriority=\"low\" loading=\"lazy\" alt=\"KCBD\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/1788390992_625_YDDVCCRJYFELLCP2FZ3VZQXM2Q.PNG\" width=\"980\" height=\"561\" \/>KCBD(KCBD)<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Though severe weather is unlikely, a few brief strong wind gusts up to 55 mph are possible if storms develop across the northwestern South Plains.
