Fort Worth police are searching for a man accused of shooting a hotel security guard after he was confronted while checking vehicle doors inside a parking garage near The Crescent Hotel early Thursday morning.<\/p>\n

The shooting happened<\/a> around 2:45 a.m. at the hotel’s garage on Camp Bowie Boulevard<\/a> in Fort Worth’s Cultural District. The wounded security guard was taken for medical treatment after being shot in the arm and is expected to make a full recovery.<\/p>\n

Suspect Confronted in Parking Garage<\/p>\n

Surveillance video<\/a> shows a man walking through the garage and appearing to check whether vehicles were unlocked, according to police.<\/p>\n

A security guard approached the man and told him to leave the property. Police said the suspect initially complied and began walking toward the garage’s east exit.<\/p>\n

As he was leaving, investigators said the man pulled out a handgun and fired several shots toward hotel security personnel.<\/p>\n

One guard was struck in the arm. Police said the suspect immediately fled the garage and ran eastbound from the area.<\/p>\n

Police Release Suspect Description<\/p>\n

Authorities described the suspect as a Hispanic male with long, floppy hair. He was wearing a dark hoodie and blue jeans at the time of the shooting.<\/p>\n

Fort Worth police are asking residents, businesses, and anyone who was in the area early Thursday to review available surveillance or cellphone video that could help identify the gunman.<\/p>\n

Officer Daniel Segura said investigators consider the suspect a serious threat because he fired a weapon toward people in the area.<\/p>\n

Hotel Praises Security Team<\/p>\n

The Crescent Hotel expressed support for its security personnel following the shooting.<\/p>\n

“We are enormously proud of how our security team handled this situation,” hotel representatives said.<\/p>\n

Police continue to search for the suspect, who remains at large.<\/p>\n
