Upcoming projects<\/p>\n
Centerpoint Road overpass<\/a><\/p>\n Project: Hays County will build an overpass over the Union Pacific Railroad crossing on Centerpoint Road. Project plans outline an overpass over the railroad with two lanes going in each direction, a widened roadway with a median and shoulders and shared-use paths on both sides, according to a news release.<\/p>\n Update: The county was awarded over $39 million in federal grant funding for the project, which will cover 80% of the cost. The process of acquiring right-of-way land and property rights and completing the final design is underway.<\/p>\n Timeline: TBDCost: $49 millionFunding source: Federal Railroad Administration, Union Pacific, Hays County<\/p>\n Parkway Drive<\/a><\/p>\n Project: The Pflugerville road will be reconstructed with pavement, curb, drainage, sidewalk and streetlight improvements.<\/p>\n Update: At its Aug. 25 meeting, City Council approved the construction contract with Chasco Constructors for $3.1 million. Construction is set to begin in mid September.<\/p>\n Timeline: mid-September-July 2027Cost: $3.4 millionFunding source: city of Pflugerville<\/p>\n MoPac South expansion<\/a><\/p>\n Project: The Austin project includes added express lanes from Cesar Chavez Street to Slaughter Lane alongside shared-use paths, according to the Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority.<\/p>\n Update: The cost for the project increased more than $400 million, per documents from a CTRMA board of directors meeting presentation in July.<\/p>\n Timeline: TBDCost: $1.3 billionFunding source: TBD<\/p>\n Ongoing projects<\/p>\n Red Bud Lane North widening<\/a><\/p>\n Project: The Round Rock project includes upgrading an existing two-lane road to a four-lane divided roadway with intersection and pedestrian improvements.<\/p>\n Update: Ongoing weather challenges have had minor impacts on the project\u2019s schedule, but the contractor is working to make up time and completion is still expected on schedule.<\/p>\n Timeline: spring 2025-spring 2027Cost: $34.7 millionFunding sources: developer contributions, Type B sales tax revenue, Round Rock certificate of obligation bonds<\/p>\n
