1. Hutto, Williamson County poised for $674M Blue Origin facility<\/p>\n
Williamson County commissioners unanimously approved an economic development agreement Aug. 20 for Blue Origin, Jeff Bezos\u2019 space technology company, to possibly construct a facility on Innovation Boulevard in Hutto.<\/p>\n
The deal would facilitate Blue Origin\u2019s construction of about 1 million square feet of aerospace and defense-related industrial research space at Hutto Crossing, according to county documents.<\/p>\n
The facility represents a $674 million investment and could create up to 2,000 jobs over 10 years, officials said. Precinct 4 Commissioner Russ Boles said it would make Blue Origin Hutto\u2019s largest employer.<\/p>\n
