Wednesday’s game is set for 7:00 p.m. while Saturday’s game will kick off at 11:00 a.m.

\nBlancaflor Tallies Four Saves as Lady Buffs Tie Adams State 0-0- September 3, 2026
\nThrough the first nine minutes of the game, WT would register the only shot with\u00a0Jade Martinez<\/a>\u00a0landing one on goal in the fourth minute. Over the next 13 minutes, West Texas A&M’s defense would be tested with Adams State firing five shots (two on goal) and creating five corner kicks. The Lady Buffs held firm during the barrage to keep the Grizzlies off the board. They would tighten up defensively as ASU only recorded one shot on goal and corner kick throughout the remainder of the half. The score would set at 0-0 heading into the halftime break after a physical half that saw Adams State commit eight fouls.

\nOut of the break, the Lady Buffs carried over their defensive momentum as they did not allow a shot or corner kick through the first 25 minutes. WT nearly got on the board in the 64th minute as they would draw a yellow card in the box.\u00a0Charo Rodriguez Fortea<\/a>\u00a0did not convert the penalty as the game remained tied. West Texas A&M made a late push with two shots on goal and two corner kicks in the final 20 minutes, but nothing would come to fruition. The game would finalize in a 0-0 draw.

\nTop Lady Buffs<\/p>\n
\n\tFranciezca Blancaflor<\/a>\u00a0produced four saves in the shutout tie as she played all 90 minutes. With her shutout, Blancaflor cracked into the top 10 in career shutouts with five as she tied McKynzie Zick (2014-15) for tenth place. She is now up to 10 saves on the season and is two saves from passing Graduate Assistant Coach\u00a0Daniela Estrada<\/a>\u00a0(2019-21, 81) for eighth place.
\n\tJade Martinez<\/a>\u00a0played 68 minutes in the midfield and notched two shots on goal.
\n\tMollie Ferro<\/a>\u00a0recorded one shot on goal in all 90 minutes of action. This was her first game this season playing all 90 minutes.

\nLate Surge Not Enough as Lady Buffs Fall 1-0 to Fort Lewis College- September 5, 2026
\nThe Lady Buffs would come out as the aggressors to start the game as they maintained consistent control of possession in their attacking half through the first 12 minutes. WT would register a corner kick and two shots during that span. Fort Lewis would flip the script as they led in possession over the next stretch of time.\u00a0Franciezca Blancaflor<\/a>\u00a0would come away with a clean save in the 13th minute and as a team, the Lady Buffs successfully defended a pair of consecutive corner kicks to keep the Skyhawks off the board. The teams would continue to battle in the defensive matchup. FLC would get on the board first in the 33rd minute as they crossed a ball into the box as it ricocheted off the head of a Skyhawk and landed right in front of the goal. FLC tapped it into the bottom left corner for the lead. WT came away with three shots in the first half as they would go into halftime trailing 1-0.

\nComing out of the break, West Texas A&M started to find a groove as they generated two shots on goal in the first two minutes. The physicality on both sides started to pick up as the teams continued to fight for possession. Blancaflor continued to be stellar in between the pipes with five saves in the second half to keep the deficit at one. At the 70th minute, the Lady Buffs started to regain consistent possession of the ball as they did in the early stages of the game and were able to apply constant pressure on the Skyhawks defense. Battling against the Colorado altitude, WT made continuous substitutions to stay fresh and that ultimately helped maintain the wave of momentum and pressure in the final stages of the match. Fort Lewis did not crack under the pressure but constantly had their backs against the wall. In the final seconds of the game, West Texas A&M was awarded a corner kick with 12 seconds remaining. They would rush to set up and produce one last chance to tie the game.\u00a0Sara Soto<\/a>\u00a0would take the kick and place it in the middle of the box where it would bounce out amidst the frenzy. Blancaflor would make a sliding shot as time expired, but it would be headed out by Fort Lewis on a shot that nearly tied the game. WT would ultimately fall 1-0 in a tightly contested match.

\nTop Lady Buffs<\/p>\n
\n\tFranciezca Blancaflor<\/a>\u00a0tallied a season-high of eight saves to go along with one shot on goal. Blancaflor would pass Graduate Assistant Coach Daniel Estrada (2019-21, 81) in career saves with 88 and now sits in eighth place all-time. The Salado, Texas native is up 18 saves on the year and is 67 saves from passing Kelly Skehan (2009-10, 154) for seventh.
\n\tRyann Davis<\/a>\u00a0played all 90 minutes on defense. This was her second straight game and third game on the year playing every minute.
\n\tSara Soto<\/a>\u00a0notched two shots with one on goal in 82 minutes. This was her second game playing 80+ minutes this season.

\nWith 12 saves and a shutout this past week, Franciezca Blancaflor<\/a> passed Graduate Assistant Coach Daniel Estrada (2019-21) for eighth place in career saves at WT with 88. \nThe first half began with WT applying early pressure, as\u00a0Jezmin Castellanos Reyes<\/a>\u00a0tested the opposing goalkeeper in the opening minutes. Despite multiple attempts on goal, including shots by\u00a0Michelle Velasco<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Lauren Stokes<\/a>, Emma Wright consistently denied scoring opportunities for the home team.

\nLubbock Christian capitalized on their momentum, with Riley Espinoza finding the back of the net in the 22nd minute.\u00a0Franciezca Blancaflor<\/a>\u00a0made several key saves, including a critical stop on an early penalty kick by Ella Spiller, keeping the match within reach for the Lady Buffs.

Despite their offensive efforts, including a series of attempts by Castellanos Reyes and\u00a0Alicia Cohen<\/a>, the Lady Buffs were kept at bay by Lubbock Christian’s defense.

\nBlancaflor played a crucial role in maintaining momentum for the Lady Buffs, making several key saves against Lubbock Christian’s offensive attempts. Her efforts helped keep the game competitive, and\u00a0Sydney Martin<\/a>\u00a0capitalized on a chance in the 85th minute to level the score at 1-1.

\nHowever, Lubbock Christian quickly responded as Logan Holloway found the net with an assist from Spiller in the 89th minute. As the half concluded, the Lady Buffs trailed 2-1, unable to equalize before the final whistle.

\nBlancaflor made 13 saves, playing the full 90 minutes, and faced 22 shots, allowing only two goals. Martin scored one goal on two shots, both of which were on target. Castellanos Reyes took seven shots, with three of those being on goal. Velasco contributed with two shots, both of which were on target.

\nSaturday’s game against DBU will be game 20 in the series between the programs with DBU holding a 15-3-1 advantage. The Patriots currently have a 16 game unbeaten streak over the Lady Buffs with a 10-game win streak. DBU would extend that streak in last year’s meeting.

\nThe match commenced with West Tex. A&M’s\u00a0Franciezca Blancaflor<\/a>\u00a0making crucial saves early, as she denied shots from Parker Coe and Chandler Wheat. Blancaflor’s efforts kept the score level despite DBU’s aggressive offensive efforts, including another save at the 30th minute against Anne Louthan’s attempt.

\nDBU broke through in the 38th minute with Riley Olsen scoring, assisted by Ashley Washburn, putting the Lady Buffs behind. The visiting team continued to hold defensively but ended the period trailing 1-0.

\nThe second half began with the Lady Buffs attempting to shift the momentum, as\u00a0Franciezca Blancaflor<\/a>\u00a0made a critical save in the 46th minute. Despite this effort, DBU managed to capitalize on their offensive push, with Parker Coe scoring in the 51st minute, assisted by Kenzi Tufts, extending their lead to 2-0.

\nScouting Lubbock Christian
\nThe Lubbock Christian University Lady Chaps come into this game holding a 3-1 record with wins against Wayland Baptist (3-1), Western Colorado (8-2), and CSU Pueblo (1-0). Their lone loss has come against Fort Lewis College (2-1). 2025 saw LCU register an 8-7-3 record with a 6-5-2 mark in LSC play as they placed eighth in the standings. The Lady Chaps would reach the conference tournament and would fall 1-1 to St. Edward’s on penalty kicks in the first round. Lubbock Christian came into this season projected to finish ninth in the LSC Preseason Poll.

\nIn the offseason, Lubbock Christian lost both of their All-Conference players in Ella Spiller (Second Team) and Emma Best (Third Team). Spiller led the team in points with 25 from 10 goals and five assists to go with four game-winning goals. Best finished fourth on the team in minutes with 1530 on defense. She played all 90 minutes in 13 games. LCU also lost Bonnie Miller tallied three points from one goal and assist with 1322 minutes on defense.

\nThe Lady Chaps do return multiple key pieces from last year’s team including Sydney Smith, Riley Espinoza, Emma Wright, and Casey Storer. Smith made the LSC All-Freshman team after posting six points from three goals to go with 13 shots on goal. Espinoza finished second on the team in points with nine from two goals and five assists. Wright started all 18 games in goal and compiled a 0.99 goals allowed average with 68 saves on a 79.1%. She went 8-7-3 with six shutouts. Storer led all field players in minutes for LCU with 1616 on defense.

\nEspinoza, Storer, and Wright were the three preseason players to watch for Lubbock Christian.

\nThrough four games, sophomore Logan Holloway leads the team in points from seven goals from three points and an assist. Journey Curs, Mia Chambliss, and Trinity Doom have all scored two goals this season. Wright has started three games in goal and made 13 saves with a 1.33 goals allowed average.

\nHead Coach Alistair Caldwell enters his third season at Lubbock Christian ahead of the 2026 season. Caldwell has produced a 16-14-6 record in his tenure with one LSC Tournament appearance.

\nThe Dallas Baptist University Patriots come into this game with an undefeated record of 3-0. DBU has beaten Mississippi Christian (6-0), Regis (2-0), and UC Colorado Springs (3-2) who was ranked No. 4 at the time. The Patriots came into this season ranked No. 5 in the United Soccer Coaches Poll and are currently ranked No. 4. DBU is coming off a 2025 season where they tallied a 20-2 record with a 12-1 mark in LSC play. The Patriots won the LSC Regular Season and Conference Tournament Championship on their way to the NCAA Tournament. They would take down Texas Woman’s and Colorado Springs in the Reion Tournament before losing to Cal Poly Pomona in the Quarterfinals. DBU was projected to finish first in the LSC Preseason Poll.

\nThe offseason saw the Patriots lose two of their three All-Americans in Parker Coe and Anne Louthan who were both First Team All-Americans. Coe led the team in minutes with 1819 and tallied 18 points from six goals and assists. She would be named LSC Player and Defensive Player of the Year. Louthan was second on the team in scoring with 33 points from 12 goals and nine assists. She would be named LSC Midfielder of the Year. DBU also lost Angelina Olmos who was a Second Team All-LSC Honoree.

\nDBU returns a plethora of players from last years squad including Skylar Belanger, Kenzie Tufts, McKenna Vela, Leslie Miller, Hannah Montoya, and Chandler Wheat. Belanger was a Third Team All-American behind 16 points (three goals and 10 assists) in 1713 minutes. She would be named LSC Freshman of the Year. Tufts was second on the team in minutes with 1817 on defense where she would be named First Team All-Region and First Team All-LSC. Vela was also a First Team All-Region and First Team All-LSC performer with a team-high 38 points from 14 goals and 10 assists. Miller started 14 games in goal and notched a 0.55 goals allowed average with 25 saves as she earned Second Team All-LSC. Montoya was Second Team All-LSC with 1064 minutes played. Wheat was fourth on the team in points with 19 from seven goals and five assists as she was Second Team All-LSC.

\nVela, Tufts, and Miller were the three players to watch for the Patriots with Vela and Tufts being named LSC Preseason Offensive and Defensive Player of the Year.

\nHead Coach Marcus Wood enters his fifth season with DBU in 2026. Wood has guided the Patriots to three LSC Regular Season and Tournament Titles while they have made the NCAA Tournament every year. Wood has coached nine All-Americans and 21 All-Region selections in his tenure.
