{"id":430089,"date":"2026-09-09T00:16:23","date_gmt":"2026-09-09T00:16:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/430089\/"},"modified":"2026-09-09T00:16:23","modified_gmt":"2026-09-09T00:16:23","slug":"lubbock-native-travis-garland-advances-to-agt-quarterfinals","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/430089\/","title":{"rendered":"Lubbock native Travis Garland advances to AGT quarterfinals"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"text | article-text\">LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) &#8211; A Lubbock native continues to impress the judges on \u201cAmerica\u2019s Got Talent,\u201d earning him a spot in the live quarterfinals competition.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Travis Garland\u2019s cover of Aerosmith\u2019s \u201cDream On\u201d received a standing ovation from the crowd and a \u201cyes\u201d from all four judges, pushing him through to the quarterfinals in the competition.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Garland was interviewed before his audition aired in July.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The 36-year-old got his big break in 2003 when he signed a record deal to join the boy band \u201cNot Like Them\u201d and performed with the group for the next six years.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">He later landed a gig singing cover songs on \u201cDancing with the Stars.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Garland competes tonight when \u201cAmerica\u2019s Got Talent\u201d airs at 7 p.m. on KCBD NewsChannel 11.<\/p>\n<p>Copyright 2026 KCBD.
