What do you want your commute to look like in 25 years?<\/p>\n

The Corpus Christi Metropolitan Planning Organization leads regional transportation plan efforts for vehicular traffic and for bicycle routes and pedestrian paths, among others. The organization is seeking public input on how travel infrastructure will evolve in the upcoming decades.<\/p>\n

The 2050 Metropolitan Transportation Plan \u2014 referred to in a news release as “a comprehensive blueprint for the region’s transportation future” \u2014 is updated in five-year cycles and, in part, breaks down projects that would be supported through federal and state dollars.<\/p>\n

\"Traffic<\/p>\n

Residents interested in participating in the process have multiple ways to deliver comments to MPO officials: online, by email and through a series of community meetings.<\/p>\n

The news release describes the forums as covering “traffic safety, congestion, maintenance conditions, transit services, bicycle facilities, the MTP schedule, an overview of the $1.0 billion available, population and employment forecasts, and more about our transportation systems.”<\/p>\n

Traffic: Over 800 traffic stops on SH 361 since safety initiative began<\/a><\/p>\n

They “are designed as opportunities for residents to learn about the planning process and contribute their thoughts on the direction of future transportation projects and policies,” it states.<\/p>\n

Below is a breakdown of options residents have to weigh in, as shown in news releases and the MPO’s site.<\/p>\n
