NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas \u2013 Ballet Texas is taking a Halloween classic underground this fall with a one-night-only performance at Natural Bridge Caverns.<\/p>\n
The performance of \u201cDracula\u201d is scheduled for Oct. 3 and will kick off Natural Bridge Caverns\u2019 annual Cavern Bat Fest, according to a news release.<\/p>\n
The production blends classical ballet, dark fantasy and theatrical effects in a neoclassical style. The story follows Count Dracula, his castle in Transylvania, and the hold he has over his victims, exploring themes of desire, danger and redemption.<\/p>\n
\u201cDracula is the perfect fusion of gothic drama and classical technique,\u201d Ballet Texas Artistic Director Farrah Olson said. \u201cIt challenges our dancers emotionally and physically \u2014 and fully captivates the audience.\u201d<\/p>\n
Brad Wuest, president of Natural Bridge Caverns, said the performance is part of the cavern\u2019s effort to offer visitors unique experiences.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe combination of Ballet Texas, this extraordinary production, and the natural setting of the Hidden Wonders Ballroom should make this a completely different way to experience a Halloween classic,\u201d Wuest said.<\/p>\n
Showtime is expected to begin at 7 p.m and seating will be limited to 220 guests, the news release said.<\/p>\n
