One Texas resident claimed a $26.75 million Lotto Texas<\/a> jackpot prize Wednesday-and plans to be pretty frugal with the eight-figure windfall, with one very Texas exception.<\/p>\n

The winner, a Lake Jackson<\/a> resident who chose to remain anonymous, purchased the winning ticket in Arlington, according to a release<\/a> from the Texas Lottery. The drawing for the prize was held in early August.<\/p>\n

The winner opted for the cash value of the jackpot and received $14.3 million before taxes.<\/p>\n

So where will all that money go?<\/p>\n

The claimant says they are most focused on providing “long-term financial security for their family,” per the Texas Lottery’s statement. But there are two material items worth purchasing first.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“I want to be as responsible as possible,” the claimant said. “But first, I’m going to get a steak and a pair of boots.”<\/p>\n

The winning Lottery Texas ticket arrived after 48 consecutive drawings without a hit beginning on April 22. The initial prize began at $5 million, then grew across the subsequent three-plus months. The retailer in Arlington also cashed in on the winning ticket, earning a $25,000 bonus through the Texas Lottery’s Retailer Bonus Program.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Lake Jackson winner isn’t the only recent Texas Lottery player sitting on a life-changing ticket.<\/p>\n

A Lotto Texas ticket worth roughly $7.5 million was sold at the Kroger at 14344 Memorial Drive in September. That ticket remains unclaimed as of Wednesday, though the winner has been informed of their winning ticket, per the Texas Lottery<\/a>. The winner selected the cash value option upon purchasing the lottery ticket and will now receive just under $4 million before taxes.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The winner of the Houston ticket has 180 days from last Saturday’s drawing date to claim their ticket. A new Texas Lottery jackpot will begin Wednesday, with a beginning jackpot value of $5.25 million.\u00a0<\/p>\n
