Southwest Airlines<\/a> will open a lounge at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport<\/a>, set to welcome guests in late 2027.<\/p>\n

The airline also announced on Sept. 2 its first-ever lounges will be built at:<\/p>\n

Baltimore\/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport<\/p>\n

Daniel K. Inouye International Airport<\/p>\n

Nashville International Airport<\/p>\n

The lounges, including the one in Austin, are already under construction, according to a Southwest Airlines news release. The company also plans to build seven more lounges at different airports but did not specify the locations in the release.<\/p>\n

\u201cSouthwest Airlines has built one of the most trusted brands in travel by delivering authentic hospitality that customers value,” Southwest Airlines executive vice president Tony Roach said in the release. “Our lounges will be a natural extension of that experience, offering customers a place to relax and experience the Southwest brand in a new way.”<\/p>\n

In July, airport officials announced that June 2026 was the airport’s busiest month ever for passenger traffic, servicing 2,102,853 departing and arriving passengers.
