The forecast comes after Dallas-Fort Worth <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dallasnews.com\/news\/weather\/article\/d-fw-drought-worsens-rain-free-streak-reaches-54-22422203.php\" data-link=\"native\" class=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">tied a record<\/a> for going without measurable rainfall for nearly two months.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>However, not all areas will see rainfall, as storms will be scattered throughout the region.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSpotty coverage will make for a few lucky folk that get beneficial downpours, but unfortunately, rainfall is not a guarantee for anyone across North Texas,\u201d the weather service said in its Wednesday afternoon forecast.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The main storm threats could include gusts winds, locally heavy rain and frequent lighting, according to the weather service.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Thursday\u2019s high will be 100 degrees, with a heat index, or \u201cfeels like temperature,\u201d of 105 degrees. Wednesday\u2019s heat advisory has not yet been extended, but the weather service said it could be issued if needed.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>THURSDAY: Mostly sunny and hot with a 20% chance for a few spotty showers or thunderstorms (mainly north and northwest).
