Colleyville City Council approved contracts for median beautification projects and an update to a design contract for a city facility at a Sept. 1 meeting<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Council members also approved updating a development agreement for a proposed senior living facility.<\/p>\n

Fiscal year 2025-26 green ribbon projects<\/p>\n

Council approved an advance funding agreement worth nearly $290,000 with Central North Construction, LLC. The contract will cover two green ribbon projects for the 2025-26 fiscal year, according to city documents<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The green ribbon projects include adding irrigation systems and landscaping improvements, such as planting ornamental trees or shrubs, along Colleyville roadways. Two areas will receive improvements, including:<\/p>\n

Federal and state funding is also expected to total $895,509 for the projects, per city documents.<\/p>\n

Voting center and splash pad design contract<\/p>\n

Council members approved an amendment to a design contract approved<\/a> in November 2025. The city will spend an additional $111,643 on design work to add restrooms, shade structures, picnic tables and benches to the Colleyville Recreation Center property.<\/p>\n

The funding, which will come from capital projects and Colleyville Economic Development Corp. funds, will also cover subsequent expansions to the proposed patio, splash pad and added amenities, according to city documents<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Council member Ben Graves said he feels the additions will make the space more user-friendly for residents and give them a place to gather.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou guys really knocked it out of the park,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

The overall project for the voting center and splash pad is expected to cost $7.5 million, Assistant City Manager Mark Wood said. As part of the project, the existing voting center will be torn down and rebuilt, according to previous reporting.<\/p>\n

Wood said the project could go out to bid in September.<\/p>\n

Senior living development agreement<\/p>\n

Council also approved updates to a development agreement for a senior living facility, which was approved in June 2024, according to city documents<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The update to the agreement was needed because the facility will no longer be a Segora Senior Living<\/a> project, and instead will be developed by Presbyterian Homes and Services<\/a>, a faith-based nonprofit based in Minnesota.<\/p>\n
