{"id":432315,"date":"2026-09-11T01:08:44","date_gmt":"2026-09-11T01:08:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/432315\/"},"modified":"2026-09-11T01:08:44","modified_gmt":"2026-09-11T01:08:44","slug":"stellas-restaurant-to-host-fundraiser-on-9-11","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/432315\/","title":{"rendered":"Stella\u2019s restaurant to host fundraiser on 9\/11"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"text | article-text\">LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) &#8211; The terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001 brought the United States together both in mourning and unified support.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Now, 25 years later, a Lubbock restaurant is hoping the community will come together once again.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\"><a href=\"https:\/\/stellaslubbock.us\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/stellaslubbock.us\/\">Stella\u2019s restaurant along 82nd Street<\/a> has a special connection to New York &#8211; that\u2019s where it was originally established in 1973. That\u2019s why causes like this hit close to home for the restaurant.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Stella\u2019s is hosting a fundraiser on September 11th. A portion of all sales will go toward the Tunnel to Towers Foundation.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/t2t.org\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/t2t.org\/\">Tunnel to Towers Foundation<\/a> was created in honor of FDNY Firefighter Stephen Siller, who laid down his life to save others during the attacks.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The foundation provides veterans and first responders with mortgage-free homes, specially-adapted smart homes for those catastrophically injured, and scholarships for their children.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cThat little bit of help, I\u2019m sure goes a long way, especially in the times we\u2019re in now. We all know things are getting more expensive,\u201d William Harper, the managing partner at Stella\u2019s, said. \u201cI\u2019m sure it goes a long way for the people who have experienced immense tragedy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Harper says it\u2019s important for Lubbock to show its support, even though the nonprofit is based in New York.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cIf something that serious happened here in Lubbock, I think the American people would have rallied around us and would have supported us,\u201d Harper said. \u201cWhatever happens to us, it happens to us together. We rely on each other to make sure we pick each other up off the ground and get back on our feet.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Stella\u2019s is located at 6015 82nd St Ste 1, Lubbock, TX 79424. It\u2019s open from 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. and the fundraiser lasts all day.
