As of now, it remains unclear if they were arrested or if they are facing any charges.<\/p>\n\u201cThe University of Houston is aware of a concerning video involving an adjunct faculty member who is also a graduate student. The video involves discussion of child sexual exploitation and child sexual abuse materials,\u201d said a University spokesperson. \u201cUH Police responded to the place where the video was being made in progress.\u201d<\/p>\n
According to the spokesperson, UHPD is currently conducting interviews and gathering more information related to this situation.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe take allegations involving child exploitation, abuse and child sexual abuse materials extremely seriously,\u201d the spokesperson said.<\/p>\n
Students attending the faculty member\u2019s class are still processing this news.<\/p>\n
\u201cHonestly I\u2019m more disappointed than anything,\u201d said psychology sophomore Jared, who requested to not reveal their last name because of safety concerns. \u201cI figured he was such a cool guy up until this point.\u201d<\/p>\n
The University and UHPD will take appropriate action, including contacting the District Attorney, based on the facts of the situation, the spokesperson said.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe safety and well-being of our students, faculty, staff and the community at large remain our highest priority,\u201d the spokesperson said.<\/p>\n
