DESTIN, Fla. \u2014 The UT Arlington men’s golf team is set to open its 2026-27 season at the Sandestin Collegiate Classic, hosted by Texas State at Sandestin Resort & Club.<\/p>\n

The three-day tournament begins Monday, Sept. 14, and runs through Wednesday, Sept. 16. It marks the first\u00a0tournament on the Mavericks’ fall schedule.

\n

\nUTA enters the season with a lineup featuring a mix of returning experience and newcomers. Michael Chevalier<\/a> and Jen Chie Huang return after competing for the Mavericks last season, while Austin Dennis<\/a>, Joey Hayden and Ed Procter<\/a> are set to make their UTA debuts.<\/p>\n

Austin Dennis<\/a><\/p>\n


\n\tDennis is set to make his collegiate debut after joining the Mavericks as a freshman from Ventura, California.
\n\tDennis put together a strong 2025 campaign before arriving at UTA, recording three victories and five top-two finishes. Over a stretch of 10 rounds during the 2024-25 season, Dennis finished 19 under par while recording 45 birdies and four eagles. <\/p>\n

Michael Chevalier<\/a><\/p>\n


\n\tChevalier enters his senior season as one of the Mavericks’ returning players.
\n\tThe Grapevine, Texas, native saw consistent action during the 2025-26 season and helped UTA finish second at the Western Athletic Conference Championship.
\n\tChevalier was also one of four UTA men’s golfers to earn WAC All-Academic honors following last season. <\/p>\n

Joey Hayden<\/p>\n


\n\tHayden joins UTA as a graduate transfer after spending four seasons at Santa Clara.
\n\tThe Dublin, California, native competed in 35 rounds across 12 events for the Broncos and posted a 72.66 career scoring average.
\n\tHayden’s best collegiate finish came at the 2024 Tim Tierney Pioneer Shootout, where he shot a 6-under 210 to finish tied for sixth. <\/p>\n

Jen Chie Huang<\/p>\n


\n\tHuang returns for his junior season after competing throughout UTA’s 2025-26 campaign.
\n\tThe Tainan, Taiwan, native closed last season with a strong showing at the WAC Championship, shooting a 2-under 70 in the final round.
\n\tHis final-round score was the best among UTA golfers that day and tied for the lowest round in the field. <\/p>\n

Ed Procter<\/a><\/p>\n


\n\tProcter is set to make his UTA debut after transferring from Kansas City.
\n\tThe Sydney, Australia, native competed in 49 rounds across 17 tournaments during his first two collegiate seasons.
\n\tProcter recorded a career-low 4-under 67 at the 2024 Oregon State Invitational before finishing tied for 22nd with a 3-over 216.
\n\tThe Sandestin Collegiate Classic begins a four-tournament fall schedule for the Mavericks. UTA will return to Texas the following week for the Bayou City Collegiate Classic, scheduled for Sept. 20-22 at Westwood Golf Club in Houston. <\/p>\n
