SAN ANTONIO – A woman was critically injured Thursday night after being hit by a pickup truck while walking on a stretch of highway where pedestrians are prohibited, according to incident notes.<\/p>\n
The crash happened at about 8:05 p.m. on 09-11-26 in the 1000 block of SE Loop 410, near East Houston Street.<\/p>\n
The complainant was walking on the highway when a Chevrolet Silverado traveling south and exiting the highway struck her as she was crossing, the notes state. The driver tried to brake but was unable to avoid the collision.<\/p>\n
The driver of the Silverado remained at the scene during the investigation. The woman, who has not been identified, was taken to a local hospital in critical condition.<\/p>\n
