A Critical East\u2013West Link<\/p>\n
Segment 3C connects the Dallas North Tollway to U.S. Highway 75, providing a vital east\u2013west corridor designed to ease congestion on other major roadways. The new roadway also aims to support economic development and improve overall connectivity the region.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The project features two extended bridges spanning Honey Creek and the East Fork of the Trinity River, and incorporates approximately 155,000 square yards of continuously reinforced concrete pavement.<\/p>\n
Construction on the segment began in February 2024 and was originally projected to finish in March 2026. With its early completion in November 2025, county officials say the project demonstrates a commitment to efficiency and careful planning.<\/p>\n

I\u2019m grateful for the hard work and dedication of everyone who helped make this project a reality.\u201d<\/p>\n Looking Ahead: The Full Outer Loop<\/p>\n The Collin County Outer Loop is a planned 53-mile transportation facility that will eventually link major highways, including IH 35, US 377, the Dallas North Tollway extension, SH 289, US 75, SH 121, US 380 and IH 30. It forms a core part of the Collin County Mobility Plan and the regional Mobility 2045 plan, supporting long-term growth and improving travel throughout North Central Texas.<\/p>\n Construction on the second service road section of Segment 3C is planned to kick off in 2026. Another segment<\/a> of the Outer Loop, stretching from Choat Parkway in Celina to the Denton County line, is still in the design stage, with work expected to begin next year as well. In the southeast part of the county, plans for Segments 2 and 4 are being finalized. Meanwhile, Segment 5 in the northeast portion of Collin County is also moving forward, with planning underway for a route that will run in both east-west and north-south directions.<\/p>\n Segment 3C was developed under the guidance of the Collin County Toll Road Authority, with engineering support from the county\u2019s Department of Engineering. Officials note the roadway has been constructed with future expansion in mind, including the possibility of adding extra lanes as traffic demands increase.<\/p>\n
