Texans like to say that the state has a few different seasons. As the joke goes, among those seasons are summer, false fall, second summer and then later \u2014 much later \u2014 actual fall.\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n

MySA asked locals how they know autumn has officially come in San Antonio, because in the Alamo City, the calendar on the wall doesn’t mean much when we’re still clocking\u00a0triple-digit temperatures well into September<\/a>. So disregard the pumpkin\u00a0spice lattes and suspiciously early Christmas decor on store shelves \u2014 here’s how San Antonio rings in the fall.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Commenters under a MySA Instagram post and in a Reddit thread shared\u00a0a checklist of\u00a0signs. According to locals, you can\u00a0tell it’s fall in San Antonio when:<\/p>\n

The first day of fall (officially) rolls around on Tuesday, September 22. Though the days ahead spell warm temperatures for at least a little while longer, predictions call for the first strong cold front of the season<\/a> to come by the end of the month.<\/p>\n

The National Weather Service Austin\/San Antonio office has said that “September in South-Central Texas typically brings early fall cold fronts, cooling highs from the mid-90s to upper 80s and lows into the mid-60s,” so there’s that to look forward to. CBS Austin meteorologist\u00a0Avery Tomasco wrote on Facebook<\/a> that Texas could (emphasis on “could”) see a cool-down around September 21\u2014 but “don’t hold me to it.
