Although San Antonio wasn\u2019t among the 40 airports forced to cut 10% their flights amid the government shutdown, the impasse in Washington is still creating headaches for local travelers.<\/p>\n

So far, a total of 10 flights into or out of San Antonio International Airport have been cancelled Monday, according to air-travel site FlightAware.com<\/a>. Another 43 are expected to experience delays.<\/p>\n

On Sunday, the airport tallied 16 cancellations and 99 delays, according to FlightAware, while those numbers stood at five and 60, respectively, for Saturday. <\/p>\n

In a statement released Friday, the City of San Antonio Aviation Department warned that even though the airport dodged the Federal Aviation Administration\u2019s mandated 10% flight reduction, Alamo City air travelers still could be affected by cuts at airports.<\/p>\n

The U.S. Senate voted Sunday to break the stalemate that\u2019s resulted in the longest-ever federal government shutdown. Enough Democrats signed on to support a package that would fund multiple agencies for a full fiscal year and others until Jan. 30, 2026.<\/p>\n

However, a vote on the legislation\u00a0that would resume funding isn\u2019t likely to happen until later in the week, according to Politico<\/a>.<\/p>\n

That means San Antonio air travelers are in for at least a few more days of turbulence.<\/p>\n
