San Antonio is feeling the love after rap star J. Cole touched down in the city on Sunday, September 13. The Grammy Award-winning artist took the stage at the Frost Bank Center, selling out the roughly 19,000-seat venue.<\/p>\n
Known for hits like “Middle Child” and “No Role\u00a0Modelz,” he was in town for his Fall-Off World Tour, which included more than 50 stops worldwide. Videos<\/a> from the concert show a hyped crowd as Cole walks through past fans on the floor, giving high-fives as he passes by them.<\/p>\n But another part of the night left attendees especially excited. Cole took time to share his thoughts on the Alamo City, highlighting its culture and beloved sports team, prompting the audience to erupt in applause and cheers.<\/p>\n In a now-viral TikTok<\/a> post, Cole called San Antonio a “great American city,” adding that it’s a key city people learn about in history books.<\/p>\n “Y’all got a lot of f****** history in this city, a lot of culture … it’s the m***** f****** melting pot .. We got a lot of Black, brown, white, a lot of s*** happening in San Antonio … and we love it,” he said.<\/p>\n The 41-year-old also explained how residents have been able to “witness greatness” in sports, noting that folks have seen several Spurs dynasties, led by icons like Tim Duncan, David Robinson, and Manu Ginobili, over the years. He added that locals appear to have another one on the way because of forward Victor Wembanyama<\/a>, who was named the NBA’s 2026 Defensive Player of the Year and is currently in his third season.<\/p>\n “Y’all just get to witness greatness, Cole concluded. “Like it’s regular to y’all.”<\/p>\n Other clips from the night showed the performer, in true Texas fashion, wearing a cowboy hat<\/a> for part of his set.
