With 22 weeks atop the Billboard Hot 100, Langley’s country song is poised to beat Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas Is You” next week<\/p>\n
\n\tProof that \u201cChoosin\u2019 Texas\u201d couldn\u2019t be any bigger: it\u2019s now almost as popular as Christmas. Ella Langley<\/a>\u2019s hit just tied<\/a> Mariah Carey<\/a>\u2019s \u201cAll I Want for Christmas Is You,\u201d both now holding the record for 22 non-consecutive weeks atop the Billboard Hot 100. Released in 1994, Carey\u2019s festive tune has received holiday bumps almost every year, but with the Christmas season still two months away (Carey usually \u201cdefrosts\u201d in November<\/a>), it seems quite possible that Langley could pass Carey to become the biggest song in Hot 100 history. Langley\u2019s sophomore LP, Dandelion<\/a>, also just returned to the top of the Billboard albums charts.<\/p>\n \n\tThis summer has not just been a banner one for \u201cChoosin\u2019 Texas,\u201d but for country music on the charts in general. At the beginning of August, the genre\u00a0claimed all top five spots on the\u00a0Billboard\u00a0100<\/a>:\u00a0\u201cChoosin\u2019 Texas,\u201d followed by Morgan Wallen\u2019s \u201cBeen By Now,\u201d Taylor Swift\u2019s \u201cI Knew It, I Knew You,\u201d the Wallen-Langley collab \u201cI Can\u2019t Love You Anymore,\u201d and Stella Lefty\u2019s \u201cBoston<\/a>,\u201d which now holds the number two slot for the second consecutive week. Swift\u2019s \u201cI Knew It, I Knew You,\u201d which scored the superstar her first CMA Award nomination<\/a> in four years, also just hit Number One on country radio, Swift\u2019s first single to reach that mark in 13 \u2013 yes, 13<\/a> \u2013 years.<\/p>\n \t\tTrending Stories<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cChoosin\u2019 Texas\u201d was released in October 2025, and made its way to the top of the charts for the first time in February. Since returning to the top slot on July 4, it\u2019s stayed there ever since, clearly snagging the title<\/a> of song of the summer, and now possibly the most successful song on the Hot 100 charts of all time.<\/p>\n \n\tLangley just landed the most nominations<\/a> \u2014 nine in total \u2013 at the upcoming 60th CMAs, including Single of the Year for \u201cChoosin\u2019 Texas\u201d and Entertainer of the Year.<\/p>\n \t
