Perla\u2019s<\/a> seafood and oyster bar announces temporary closure online<\/a> after sustaining a kitchen fire on Sept. 6.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The fire was reportedly quickly contained, according to a social media post. Additionally, no guests or staff were injured during the incident. The restaurant is now closed during the cleanup process.<\/p>\n

The backstory<\/p>\n

Perla\u2019s initially launched in 2009 by chefs Larry McGuire and Tom Moorman. The restaurant is owned by MML Hospitality<\/a>, which also oversees other Austin-area spots like Rosie\u2019s Wine Bar, Neighborhood Sushi, Swedish Hill, and the group\u2019s other seafood concept, Clark\u2019s Oyster Bar.\u00a0<\/p>\n

On the menu<\/p>\n

The seafood spot offers fresh fish, oysters, entrees, cocktails and wines. Perla\u2019s offers grilled, raw and cornmeal-fried oysters, as well as shrimp, swordfish, snapper, sea bass and scallops. Patrons can also find a selection of salads, sandwiches, steaks and sides, such as grilled Brussels sprouts, broccoli and crispy herb fries.\u00a0<\/p>\n

There are currently no updates on when Perla\u2019s will reopen, according to a representative with MML Hospitality. Locals are encouraged to check the Perla\u2019s Instagram account for updates on the restaurant\u2019s reopening.\u00a0<\/p>\n
