A suspect wanted in connection with a Plano homicide investigation died Monday after a high-speed chase and standoff shut down Interstate 35 near Sanger and Valley View, authorities said.<\/p>\n
Valley View police received<\/a> a call around 10 a.m. requesting assistance with a Texas Department of Public Safety pursuit moving north on I-35 through Denton County, the department said in a social media post.<\/p>\n DPS said troopers tried to stop<\/a> the driver of a Dodge Charger. The suspect fired at troopers and continued fleeing, according to the agency.<\/p>\n During the chase, the suspect\u2019s vehicle crashed and caught<\/a> fire, igniting a grass fire in the median of the highway and forcing the closure of traffic in both directions.<\/p>\n The suspect was pronounced dead, authorities said.
