HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — Police said that officers arrested a 16-year-old suspect on Monday, accused of shooting and killing a man outside a convenience store in southwest Houston in June.<\/p>\n

According to the Houston Police Department, officers were called to the store in the 5400 block of Birdwood Road near Braesmont Drive at about 6:50 p.m. on June 21. When they arrived, officers said they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound in the parking lot.<\/p>\n

Officials said that Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene as well, where they pronounced the man dead. Authorities identified the victim as 28-year-old Ismail Ali.<\/p>\n

Detectives said in June that they pulled surveillance video to see what led up to the shooting and saw that there was a fight that occurred moments before the shots were fired.<\/p>\n

HPD said investigators identified the 16-year-old male as the suspect in the fatal shooting. Authorities said they arrested the suspect on Monday without incident.<\/p>\n

Officials did not reveal the suspect’s identity due to his age. The suspect was referred to the Harris County Juvenile Probation Authorities on a charge of murder, according to HPD.<\/p>\n
