One of the South Texas region\u2019s most recognizable ports recently celebrated a milestone anniversary as it enters its second century of operation.<\/p>\n
On Sept. 14, the Port of Corpus Christi officially celebrated its 100-year anniversary since it commenced operations in the early 1920s.<\/p>\n
According to a social media post from the Port, the Port of Corpus Christi was established as a port authority in 1922 and officially began operations in 1926. To date, it has grown into the third-largest port in the United States in total tonnage and the nation\u2019s leading export gateway for crude oil as well as a top exporter for Liquified Natural Gas (LNG).<\/p>\n
